LIFE OF A FREELANCER
There are few people who are in love with their boss, the only possible exception being attractive females. Apart from the punch line, it is a known fact that working in an office on a fixed routine is not everyone’s cup of tea. Some of us want to be our own boss, come and go as we please, do whatever we like and manage our own schedule. If this is the case with you do not attempt to contact a shrink; instead, understand that you are born to be a freelancer.
Wanting to be a freelancer

Freelance Job Random Quote |
There is nothing wrong in wanting to be a freelancer, but many of us feel that it’s a joyride and there is no discipline required. On the contrary, self management requires greater discipline than being under someone else’s command. You may find it surprising, but conquering yourself is the greatest conquest of all and a freelancer’s success depends on it. I am not trying to scare you, but freelancers need to build their reputations and keep them intact, just like a corporation tries to retain or improve its image. You have to meet deadlines, there is no back up, and the only person you can rely on is yours alone.
Being a freelancer
This, however, doesn’t mean that being a freelancer is not worth a little self discipline. Friends, it is worth more than anything else in the world. Throughout history, people have died for freedom more than any other nation, and in today’s world being a freelancer means you are enjoying the freedom that few can have and many envy. One of the greatest merits, thanks to the internet, is that you are no longer confined to a particular geographical location. You can be in Delhi one day and on another Timbuktu; it will not make a difference in your paycheck or your employer. Timing is not rigid; you can choose when to start and when to finish, keeping in mind the deadlines though. You are the primary beneficiary in all circumstances. Your good work reflects on your reputation and your immediate boss can never take the credit for your brilliant ideas. Trust me, the latter happens a lot to employees.

Bottom Line
Unlike a 9 to 5 job, the income you earn is directly related to your efforts. If you are working for a company and it makes a profit of 2 million or 4 million it never reflects on your paycheck, but being a freelancer every effort you put out makes you the sole beneficiary of all profits. Simply put, if you are a freelance writer, the more you write, the more money you make; but if you are employed for a local newspaper for example, you will get a fixed salary no matter what happens. Being a freelancer is like a bird that can fly and rest whenever it wishes to; I do not know about you, but I love that feeling more than anything else in the world!
